MERCH AND DESTROY!!!

Last Friday I went to the P and P bookstore in DC. This was the spoken word given By the authors of the new book entitled Hard Art. These were unreleased photos of one of Bad Brains earlier shows in DC at an art space in 1979. It was taken by Lucian Perkins and the book was written by Alec Mackaye (faith, warmers, ignition etc) and Henry Rollins. The three of them were there to speak about the book as well as sign them. Since I moved back to northern Va. A lot of my stuff has been saved at my parents house from over 10 years ago. I thought this would be a good chance to get my hardcover edition of Get In the Van signed by Henry as well as his other book Unwelcomed Songs.  I actually got to speak to Henry about Jeffrey Lee Pierce (singer of the gun club) He told me a great story about when he used to hang with Jeffrey and Nick Cave, they would be partying and doing drugs and he would be there lifting weights and doing push ups.  

I also ran into Cynthia Connelly and had her signed my Banned In DC book. She also mentioned that these books were out of print and are not being reprinted due to the cost of the manufacturer. 

in other notes the picture of the two guys are Dante from Iron cross and Grey Matter and Brian Baker from Dag Nasty, Minor Threat, Bad Religion etc

When Henry Rollins decided to do his Benefit for the West Memphis 3 aka the Black Flag Reunion tour, Greg Ginn did one on his own in Los Angeles aka the benefit for cats.

I remember one time Greg was touring the country and playing his back catalog in people’s basements. I saw this atrocity in dc at club asylum…

Any who after Rollins did his tour which was great it brought awareness and funds for his cause. He even brought some of the former members out with him like Keith Morris. At the DC show Ian Mackaye even came out and sang rise above.

My friend Jason Scheller went out in 2003 to the Palladium in Hollywood to see Greg Ginn plus others do the first 4 years aka the benefit for cats. He told me it was one of the biggest pieces of shit he has ever seen….. too bad
